Formal attire traditionally refers to tuxedos or a dark suit and tie for men and a long gown or a midi length dress for women. Our wedding will be the week after Easter, so fun-colored dresses are encouraged if that's your thing!
Is there a hotel block for guests?
Yes! There are hotel blocks as well as suggested nearby hotels in the area. Check out the 'travel' tab.
Will there be parking onsite at the ceremony and reception?
Yes! There is plenty of parking at the church.
There is also plenty of parking at Boone Hall. We suggest either driving or using a ride-share service, such as Uber or Lyft. You are welcome to leave your car at Boone Hall and pick it up the next day during operating hours. Boone Hall opens at 12 PM on Sundays. If using Uber/Lyft, we recommend prescheduling rides to and from the event for convenience and ease of mind.
What will the weather be like?
Towards the end of April, the temperature in Mt. Pleasant should stay around high-60s to mid-70s. We don't expect that warm outerwear will be necessary. If you are more cold-natured, a light sweater would be good!
As it will be Spring in Charleston, rain is always possible. Our ceremony will be indoors. Our reception venue is indoors with an outdoor dock and outdoor patio.
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to our limited capacity with our reception venue, unless listed as an option to bring a guest on your invitation, we ask that you only bring yourself so as to enjoy our day intimately with you and our closest family and friends.
How do you pronounce Gerhard's name?!
Outside of Gerhard's family and friends, we know you were wondering! In all seriousness... Gerhard is named for his great grandfather and it is pronounced “Jared!” :)
What are the wedding colors?
Blue, white, green, and natural. Bridesmaids will be wearing hydrangea blue.
Feel free to wear any color you like, other than white of course! :) Fun colored dresses are encouraged since our wedding day will be the week after Easter!
